The original buildings were a series of large 19th-century warehouses that housed the barrels of port wine that came down the River Douro in wooden boats called rabelos and docked on the banks of Gaia where they awaited shipment to other destinations around the world. This hotel and apartment project has given a new lease of life to a historic building that has been transformed into a modern hotel with a sophisticated design and privileged views over the city of Porto.
